Wangaratta Community
The King Valley community network will be constructed and operated by SmartFarmNet (SFN) trading under the Carrier License of Technomics Pty Ltd. The network will be installed on private property where possible and connect members of the King Valley area to both the Internet and On Net SFN storage and applications.
The King Valley infrastructure will be owned and operated by SmartFarmNet Australia. The initial term of customer agreements will be five years in order to recover the initial construction investment. After that period SFN will offer monthly prices that are benchmarked to metropolitan rates and services on a two year contract.

Strong Community Focus
This new network will be successful if there is strong community support and a collaborative approach to construction and operation. SmartFarmNet encourages local farmers and residents to participate in planning, construction and /or maintenance in order to keep prices to a minimum and a local community focus on service. Our constructor is a long standing local construction company, Dunstan Civil. SFN will also be seeking local suppliers to maintain the network.

“We desperately need a world class network in the King Valley for our business to succeed and grow”. |
Local Council Support
“My plan is to bring the highest level of connectivity to the farming and rural regions of Wangaratta. We will be the first for this new network” |
Council has been very supportive of this initiative and SmartFarmNet will be collaborating with the Wangaratta Local Council on a range of issues, including route design.

Construction will not commence until SmartFarmNet obtains agreement from enough properties to make the project operationally and financially viable. SmartFarmNet will keep you informed of progress. To register your interest in the SmartFarmNet network please email us at [email protected].
SmartFarmNet will assist farmers and residents to determine the right speed and features for their needs.
Residents who take up the service at the initial construction phase will have significant benefits over those who join later.
It is also our plan to host as many services as possible on our community network in order to lower your costs and deliver these services at far higher speeds.
As the network grows, our plan is to return as many benefits to our network communities as possible.
Ultimately, it is envisaged SmartFarmNet Australia will, where farm densities economically permit, build and operate over 100 community-based fibre networks into a National network.
With over 120 years of combined experience between the Directors of SmartFarmNet we are passionate about this network which will be the first of over 100 networks bringing fibre to rural homes around Australia.
We feel strongly that the Australian farming families are being left out of the technology revolution that is bringing new entertainment, health and education services to people in cities around the world.
